What is graphic design?

It is the designing of things people see and read whether it's in digital or printed form.

So that means that it can consist of books, posters, billboards, signs, advertisements, commercials, brochures, etc...

It also involves the creation of web graphics and motion graphics.

There are a lot of specialties that fall under the term graphic design.

This, of course, is the text book definition.

Graphic design for small businesses involves using visual design to promote your business. Your promotional materials must solve some sort of problem or stir up a desire in the recipient to buy what you offer.

I choose to focus on these two areas because all businesses need both of these avenues to successfully promote a business. Plus it is easy to start using the tools in these areas to promote your business, no matter what your budget is.
